I patiently explained to Hedrick Smith, the chief correspondent and producer of the program, that the main beneficiaries of Wal-Mart’s low-price policy are the poor, who could now afford products that would be out of their reach but not for Wal-Mart, improving their lives and raising their standard of living.
Bruce Bartlett continues to give many more reasons supporting his claim and gives a devastating critique of the Frontline special produced with the same title.

Hmmm. I have a hunch that there could be some anti-trust issues in regards to Walmart. We can’t forget the “little guy”.
I could be wrong though…..it’s just a hunch.

mmHmmm. Like I said…..I have a hunch in regards to Walmart and possibly anti-trust issues. Have a good day!
Sorry, I am no fan of Walmart. If you read the history of Sam Walton in Arkansas, he low-balled his competition out of business and strong armed many suppliers to the brink of bankruptcy. As a small business wholesaler, I know how much pressure can be applied by the big boys. Walmart is not quite the panacea to all the ills that plague American retail business.
