Alfonso "Hispanic Pundit" Trujillo is a good blogger and an honest arguer. He recently put up a post about the value of immigrants to America, which few of us would dispute. Here's an excerpt: "They...

I’d say the danger(if there is any)is directly related to their ability to wield power or place into practice their ideas. Clearly, Charles Manson is no longer a danger to society at large.

I’m glad he (our conservaitve Mexican) still amongst us. Lol

LOL. No, I think he is studying for his Phd, doing his thesis or something.

Btw, it wasn't me who said this, merely quoting someone who I think made a valid general point, (people with such views, whether a large amount or not, are dangerous) regardless of whether he got the magnitude right or not.

Yep, so it's at best silly to bring it up and at worst a sign of something more sinister.

Again, my concern is that "conservative minorities" become too concern with wanting to appear “fair” and “even” to their non-minority conservative friends that they unwittingly become puppets of the hate mongers.

BTW, What happened to that other conservative Mexican? Did he get deported?

Actually, my statement does, somewhat, say that, I had said,

“But a small minority, yes.”

In other words, this is smaller than even a minority of the participants. My usage of the term 'minority' is not meant to mean 'ethnic minority', but minority in size. So an even smaller amount of an already small group of people is almost equal to “an immeasurable amount”, don't you think? It's small^2 (small squared), a much, much, smaller number.

Okay, I'm just messing (sorta). But I agree with what you said...definitely not any significant number of people, it's “an immeasurable amount”. :-)

"But a small minority, yes."

-HP

Actually, I’d say infinitesimal amount of Chicanos/Mexicanos truthfully seek Mexican re-annexation of the southwest. So much so, that it is irresponsible to suggest that a “minority” of Mexicans seek this. So, few within the group seek “Aztlan” or a reunification with the “motherland,” that it could only appear as a blip on the radar of a someone pandering to the some of lowest human common denominators- fear and hate.

HP, if you changed “small minority” to “an immeasurable amount” than I’d say that you are still overestimating the amount of “Hispanics” that truthfully want the southwest to be reunified with Mexico.

“Freethinking” conservatives, me thinks, must take care to not unwittingly become the lapdogs of bigots or those who peddle of hate for profit.

Saying that its a small minority is blowing it out of proportion. If Ben Stein truly believes the miniscule amount of hispanics that believe that way are a bigger concern than Iraq well then hes lost all rational perspective.

Average? No, I don't think so, and neither does Ben Stein. But a small minority, yes.

What was the purpose of posting this? Do you really think the average Mexican immigrant is trying to make the Southwest US secede and become part of Mexico?

Ben Stein should watch something else if he's nauseated.
