Lets not forget the Clintons passed the "Parental Medical leave act", "Head start", and was a big contributor to child advorsary, not to mention a lot more. ESPEUALLY BLACKS! Having these benifits is what being an american is about.

IF YOU SIMPLY LEAVE THE CNTONS ALONE AND STOP ALL THE SMEAR CAMPAIGNS, YOU'LL SEE TRUE A LOT MORE OF WHAT PEOPLE ARE SREAMING FOR.

I thinks its a California thing being extrapolated to the nationwide Latino electorate, which is off-base. And all the generalisms go out the window: my third generation Mexican-American mom who resides and works in Obama country - (Hyde Park/So. Shore in Chicago) has many black colleagues/friends absolutely loves Clinton / hates Obama (why I dont know?); yet many of my more recent "naco" fabrica-working class of '86 (do you have to ask?) in-laws are going to vote for the "negrito".

In re the CA primary I think Obama will end up getting the vaunted 40% of the Latino primary vote which is the statistical level at which the vote ceases being a distinctive bloc. As far as Obama in the general election, I think as long as McCain is not nominated for the Rs, then this shouldnt be a big deal.

Me, I just feel Hillary Clinton cant take that extra big state (OH?) or series of states (the southwest necklace of NV-AZ-NM-CO) she needs to win in November. Therefore I relish the chance to see an Obama-McCain race. All bets would be off.

My 0.02 cents whenever I read that:

1. Its exaggerated.

2. Some of it could be over immigration...latinos and blacks tend to be on opposite sides of the immigration debate...so Obama could be feeling the brunt of that.

3. There is some tension between blacks and latinos in various cities across California, especially poor neighborhoods.

4. Latinos really do love Bill Clinton, atleast that has been my experience when discussing politics.

With this competition between Obama and Clinton focusing heavily on identity politics, I wonder as a Latino would will have the most success in courting the Latino vote.

Unfortunately, I keep reading from various blogs and news sites that Obama is going to have trouble gathering support from Latino voters because of alleged tensions between blacks and Latinos out west and that Hillary will naturally attract the Latino vote because of her husband. Why is this? Was Bill Clinton the first Hispanic President as well as the first Black President? I'd certainly love to get in on such a discussion if you'd blog about it.
