George Bush was the most intellectually arrogant of all, but without the "intellectually" part. Dubya was the poster boy for affirmative action for rich white guys--no way Dubya gets admission to (yet along graduates from) Yale or Harvard MBA on his academic merits. Plus, he got to dodge Vietnam! Just like ChickenHawk Cheney with 5 deferments. The arrogance of the administration was to kill science when the results did not concur with their politics.

HP can vote for Obama because there really is not much difference between the Democrats and Republicans. Sure the window dressing is a bit different (and one party allows minorities in its membership), but in the end, its the same old wine in different bottles.

Reading the above, I have concluded that propaganda works. Obama is a terrific salesman. But all his goods are in the shop window.

Kathy,

There is a lot to talk about re: Barack Obama's legislative record. He has cosponsored more bills over the course of his career than has Hillary Clinton. What has Hillary Clinton done in the Senate in the 8 years that she has been there?

"I think that one indicator of Obama’s humble nature is the fact that he doesn’t brag about his legislative record."

I would think that the reason for this is there is not much to brag about.

La gente hispana debe invesitgar de una manera mucho más profunda la filosofía e ideología de Barak Obama.

I think that one indicator of Obama's humble nature is the fact that he doesn't brag about his legislative record. He was very prolific in the Illinois state legislature and has sponsored more substantive bills than has Hillary Clinton.

He isn't above working with adversaries if necessary.

In a way I'm looking forward to when you finally give in and make your official Obama endorsement... but at the same time I'm afraid that it might be a sign that I should start building an arc or buying up can goods and constructing a bomb shelter.

HP leaning to the left? That has to be followed up by something biblical like frogs falling from the sky or rain that lasts for months.

I know of Mankiw's blog. I'm not an economist (not too terribly interested in it either, as of now). I haven't taken his class because... well, it's huge (around 1,000 students) and I flounder in economics. I took another class to fulfill that requirement. Plus, it's a way for him to make money from his textbook. Even his car's license plate is "Ec 10."

Yeah, he is. You might enjoy this blog, he is a better known professor of economics at Harvard...and better yet, he blogs. :-)

I didn't know this about him. It makes me respect him more. If he does get the nomination, I will vote for him.

BTW, David Cutler is part of faculty at Harvard. :)
