The Rustbelt Model-Coming to a theater near you?

I have to say, having lived in Michigan for 2 years, I can still visualize the extent to which strong unions, a heavy reliance on big government and a general hostility to free markets can destroy an economy. Obama’s economic policies remind me of the same characteristics that brought the upper-Midwest to its knees. (h/t Instapundit)

You should probably change the title to read “Rustbelt Model”.

I didn’t know you were from Michigan too? I originally grew up in Adrian (Southeast corner of the state). What do you think Granholm? I say she has a lot to do with the further deterioration of the state lately, she needs to go back to Canada!

I am not from Michigan, but just lived in East Lansing for 2 years. I was shocked at the deterioration of the cities, like Flint and Detroit. Some of the other cities seemed to depend almost entirely on one company. If you can get reliable work there, its a beautiful state to live in.
