Obama gave a speech and responded to questions at the House Republican retreat in Baltimore. See the full video on C-Span here. The transcript can be found here.
I disagree with Obama on many things. Alot of which he discussed in this video. But it is clear from the dialogue that Obama has a far better command of the issues than present day Republicans. He clearly cleaned their clocks in this discussion.
Obama was very well prepared and he shows he is a smart man. Imagine if George Bush had to answers these questions ans was in a room full of opposition.
He was on fire right of the box, he clearly explained where the majority of stimulus money was spent. He was clever in how he said some of you guys were at the ribbon cutting ceremonies for intfrastructure projects.
Showing once more (for the slow learners) how completely clueless the whole “teleprompter” meme was.
As if to nail the point home, Chaffetz (R-BYU) can be seen resorting to his notes just to get his question right.
I agree. I’ve never seen anything like it. It was both politically daring and informative. Even made me reconsider some of my previous complaints about his economic decisions.
He made all the Republicans in the crowd look like political hacks. Stupid even.
Wow…you guys are still drinking the kool aid.
Obama wants to take this country in the WRONG direction.
People wake up !!!
Ooopps actually they have….in MA ! Hahahaha
HP- we shouldn’t expect much from these set of republican clowns. After all, these were the same people who foolishly over spend in 2000s when they had the opportunity to reduce the deficit further much like the republicans in the 90s. Obama was prepared and they weren’t. Now, I wouldn’t go so far as Frank and say Obama is smart. I would prefer to say he’s clever. After all, if he was so smart, why has unemployment gone up when he said with all this massive spending it would go down?
“Even made me reconsider some of my previous complaints about his economic decisions”
He is good! Obama is able to get many to believe even after standing there and admitting to lies, he’ll probably be reelected.
One of the Republicans should have had the balls/spine to ask Obama in front of the cameras about Obama’s Birth Certificate. That would have been great theatre.
