“A recent survey by Pew revealed that 86 percent of conservatives agree that “not reporting all income on your taxes is morally wrong” compared to only 68 percent of liberals. Conservatives want lower taxes but feel they should pay what they owe. Liberals want you to pay more but don’t stress about paying their own.” — Ron Guhname

I went ahead and posted my response over at the Inductivist. I hope you don’t mind if I just cut and paste it here:
Good point!
Did you catch his response? Ill post below:
That’s sort of the response I expected. It’s the Dan Rather Defense:
“Yes, I fudged the data, and you caught me. Darn! But it’s still quite possible that the point I was trying to make was correct. Let’s pretend I never tried to fool you and continue the debate.”
It seems highly likely that Bush pulled some strings to get out of military duty, and I’m perfectly willing to discuss that with anyone – except Dan Rather. Likewise, it’s possible that Liberals feel more at ease with tax cheating, and I would be more than happy to explore that possibility with someone who was trustworthy. But I don’t think I’ll continue that conversation with Inductivist.
